best beaches in Lefkada

For me, Lefkada was love at first sight! I can say that Lefkada made me revisit Greece every year. The water here is amazing, a clear, turquoise water and most of the time you will have also amazing views on your way to the beach.

In this article you will find a list with best beaches in Lefkada along with some useful information about each beach.

Agiofili beach

Agiofili beach in Lefkada is one of my personal favorites and obviously i had to include it in my article – best beaches in Lefkada

You can reach Agiofili beach by boat or via car.

There is a parking lot available and from there you need to walk a little bit until you will reach the stairs which will provide a breathtaking view over this amazing beach.

On your way from the parking towards the beach, you will find a small van that sells refreshments, snacks, sandwiches and ice cream.

On the beach you will have to choose wether you want to rent a set of one umbrella and 2 sun beds or you can simply put your towel on the sand wherever you will find a free spot.

The beach is not so big, actually quite small i would say, but i it’s definitely stunning. The water is crystal clear and turquoise perfect for snorkeling. Don’t forget to bring your water shoes with you.

Do not miss Agiofili beach while in Lefkada!

Egremni beach

Well, who didn’t heard about the famous Egremni beach and it’s story ?

Long story short, this beach was accessible only by boat for many years, as the single access road was destroyed by an earthquake in 2015. Now, since 2023 , they rebuild a road and build the stairs that now makes the access possible by foot again.

One important thing you need to know is that it will take you around 30 mins by walk to reach the beach. Keeping in mind that it includes stairs as well. You will have to leave your car on the parking lot and then start by foot.

It’s not an impossible thing to do, but it will definitely depend on your condition.

Before you will start descending on the stairs, there will be a “beach” bar with an amazing view over Egremni beach.

Also there is a guy renting umbrellas on the beach and you can also buy refreshments and sandwiches from him, so don’t overload yourself with too many items.

The beach is beautiful, the water is amazing, turquoise.. but be aware of the big waves and sometimes strong currents are present.

The effort to reach Egremni beach is definitely worth it. It’s still a kind of wild beach, secluded and never too crowded because of the walk, i guess.

Don’t forget to bring your water shoes with you.

Ammoussa beach

This beach is not very big, but is very practical and with easy access. From the parking lot you will walk only 2-3 minutes and arrive at the beach.

On the beach you will find available to rent umbrellas and sun beds. Also there is a taverna there, only few steps from the beach and the food there is delicious

If you decide to come to Ammoussa beach then bring also your snorkeling equipment with you.

In my opinion, this beach is suitable for families with kids as well, as you have in your proximity everything you need.

Don’t forget to bring your water shoes with you.

Lagkadaki beach

Lagkadaki beach is definitely a hidden gem in Lefkada!

We found it by mistake but ended up loving it so much that we’be been here twice while in Lefkada!

This beach is very close to Ammoussa beach and it’s reachable by car. You can park on the road right near the beach. It’s very easy to access.

There are no umbrellas or sun beds to rent, it’s just a small beach.

Believe me, this beach is amazing, wild, secluded, small, not crowded and with stunning crystal clear water.

Same as for all the beaches, i always bring my water shoes with me, and this beach is no exception.

Do not miss this gem!!

 Megali Petra beach

Megali petra beach is a very long beach, with turquoise crystal clear water and some giant rocks to complete the beauty of it.

The road to get to the beach might be a little risky, as it’s very narrow on some portions, but eventually 2 cars will fit.

There is a parking lot which also provides shade for the cars, which is excellent.

On the beach you will find umbrellas and sun beds to rent, but there are not so many, so get there early.  Also there is a small tavern where you can buy food and refreshments.

Don’t forget to bring your water shoes with you.

Pefkoulia beach

Pefkoulia beach can be added to the best beaches in Lefkada for sunset watching. The sunsets here are stunning.

Pefkoulia beach is perfect for sunset watching. Although, the beach is very nice as well, in the back there is a pine tree forest and a camping area. You will see there a lot of tents from people who are camping there.

There is also a parking lot and a nice restaurant/beach bar. The reaturant are also has a nice pool, but i don’t know if everyone can sit there by the pool or you need to pay a fee.

Same rule applies for his beach too, don’t forget to bring your water shoes.

Nevertheless, while you are in Lefkada, you should at least  once to watch the sunset on Pefkoulia beach.

Milos beach

Milos beach is a long beach with big waves. If you enjoy the beaches with big waves, then Milos beach is for you.

To reach Milos beach you have 2 options: take a boat from Ag. Nikitas or by foot and you will leave your car in Agios Nikitas and take 20 mins hike. The hike it’s medium i’d say, but completely worth it because you will have an amazing view from the top.

There were no umbrellas or sun beds on this beach, but it was few years ago.

Again, you would like to have your water shoes with you and be careful as the waves can get very big sometimes.

Other than this, the beach is very nice and the water is turquoise. I would not recommend Milos beach to families with babies or little kids.

Nydri Waterfall

If you have some extra time, i think you would also love the Nydri Waterfall.

To reach Nydri Waterfall you will have to park your car and go for a little walk on an easy trail. The walk to reach the waterfall will take around 15-20 minutes, but it’s worth it.

We went in the morning and then headed to a beach. Also, i did bath in the waterfall, but i must say it was freezing cold.

Nydri Waterfall is gorgeous and definitely worth the walk.
