6 best beaches in Sithonia

If you are about to visit Sithonia ( Halkidiki)  and you are searching  for a list with the beaches out there, you are in the right place. I’ve prepared a list with 6 best beaches in Sithonia that I’m sure you will love.

This year was the first time we visited Halkidiki, more precisely Sithonia and we really liked the vibes and the beaches. If you love turquoise waters, then you will love your vacay in Sithonia.

Fava Beach, Sithonia

Looking for a beach with turquoise and crystal-clear waters, but also easily accessible ? Fava beach is the answer.

From Vourvourou took us around 5 minutes drive to arrive to the parking spot and then around 3-4 minutes to walk to the beach.

Fava beach is a wild beach, without so many amenities but with amazing water, beautiful vegetation and also it provides ,on a clear sky day a beautiful view over the Atos Mountain. After visiting Fava beach

Paradise Kavourotripes beach

Only one word to describe this beach: PARADISE!

When you will arrive here, you will understand why this beach is among the 6 best beaches in Sithonia. Crystal clear water, amazing beach bar with natural shade, rocky surroundings, Mount Atos view, Paradise Kavourotripes beach is a real paradise on earth!

If you get whew very early in the morning you might get lucky enough to get a subbed, otherwise you will definitely find a spot were to lay your towel and enjoy this amazing beach.

Here is an amazing beach bar with places to sit at natural shade created by the trees. They serve drinks, from water, soda, coffee and also cocktails and also food. The prices are decent, we paid 5€ for a freddo cappuccino and 8€ for a greek salad and same for a fruit salad.

Tigania beach

This beach is unique in Sithonia, and definitely has its well deserved place on my 6 best beaches in Sithonia list. It gives you a wild beach vibe, but wild like in a tropical country, because in fact it’s not a wild beach.

It’s located at 50 mins drive from Vourvourou, but definitely worth it. The road when you approach the beach parking will have a deep up and down but without any pits. Just drive slowly!

There is a beachbar on the beach and the sunbeds are free  with the condition that you consume regularly from their bar. Prices are decent, freddo cappuccino 5€ , beer 7€ , soda 5 €, souvlaki 15€.

Do not miss this gem when in Halkidiki!

Diaporos Island , Sithonia

A hidden gem, accessible only by boat and very close to Vourvourou is Diaporos Island.

Although is a small island, I’ve included it in my list with the 6 best beaches in Sithonia as there are 2 beaches you don’t want to miss!

  • Myrsini beach
  • Blue Lagoon beach

Crystal clear and turquoise water, not very crowded, secluded and wild beaches. This is how I would describe these 2 beaches from Diaporos Island. The beaches are Myrsini and Blue Lagoon.

How to get there ? Best option is to rent a boat from Vourvourou , and before you ask, no, you don’t need a skipper license to drive this boat.

We rented the boat from Yolo Boat rental, the guys from there explained to us everything we needed to know. We had an offline map that marked our location all the time and also on that map were market with a diamond the best beaches from Diaporos Island. In this way we always knew were are we located and what is the best route to the beach we wanted to go. The cost of renting a boat for a day in Vourvourou was 110€ + 36€ the fuel we consumed.

I saw there was cheaper options as well , like the guys next to them had the boat rental price for 100€.

Mega Portokali beach

Another beach that deserves its place on my 6 best beaches in Sithonia list.

On the road to Mega Portokali beach, take the entrance where it’s written “Aqua Marina beachbar” , this is a better and more accesible road than the one shown on the GPS.

From the parking lot you will have to walk 1 minute and then you will need to go down few stairs to arrive on the beach. The beach its very beautiful, but very small, so expect to struggle a little to find a spot were to put your belongings.

The beach bar is upstairs, you willl pass near it on your way to the beach. It’s called Aqua Marina, and they serve drinks and food. We loved enjoying a freddo cappuccino on the pine forest that’s situated behind the beach bar, which provides natural shade and amazing views to the beach.

On the bar, there it’s written that they provide free umbrella, we had our own so we didn’t asked. But if you don’t have an umbrella, might be a good idea to ask for one, as the sun is burning and you won’t want to ruin your vacation with some sunburns.

Kalogria beach

Kalogria beach is a more populated beach where you can find sunbeds available for rent.

We wanted to explore this beach for the small rock present on the water, not very far from shore. We went there on our own paddle board, equipped with our snorkeling masks. I can’t say that the marine life was spectacular there, but at least we had a good swim.

There are also water sports available for rent, but they won’t let you stay to close to the rock, in order not to damage their equipment.

The water is crystal clear and for 2 sunbeds and one umbrella we paid 10 , but you also have to constantly order something from their bar. The sunbeds were very comfortable, so definitely worth it. As per the prices for the beach bar, they are decent too : 4 toast, 7 greek salad, 8 nuggets, 5 freddo cappuccino and 5 beer.
